Schools programmes

We also have Schools’ Programmes aimed at pupils & teachers of schools that don't play lacrosse. Initially we will coach these girls in school – lunch times – or alongside school PE lessons.  They may also be invited with our U14 or U17s at the weekend. Download flyer by clicking here.

Chalenge 2

Supported by Elmbridge Council, English Lacrosse Association and Sport England, we have had taster days at Rydens, Hinchley Wood, Esher High, Senior and Royal Kent, Hurst Park & St Andrew's Primary Schools.  This has established a ground swell of interest.  For 2009/10 we are running the following supported programmes primarily for state schools, so if you are a teacher and would like to get your pupils playing lacrosse please do get in touch.

1)    Preps & Primaries (12s) – afters school clubs in five Prep or Primary schools – up to 28 youngsters from year 6 (under 12) – usually 3.00- 4.00 or 4.00-5.00.  This will culminate in an Elmbridge Preps & Primary Schools tournament to be players in May/June 2010

2)    Surrey Stars (13/14s) – Try days have led to a number of outstanding athletes being discovered who might never have been introduced to Lacrosse. These girls have gone on to represent Surrey County at the sport.  We will be looking for girls U14 in Elmbridge State Schools who have the potential to become good players and have the determination to train to play lacrosse.  Initially we will coach these girls in school – lunch times – or alongside school PE lessons.  They may also be invited with our U14 or U17s at the weekend. 3)    Pre-U (U17s) – for girls in the fifth and sixth forms – either at sixth form colleges or moving to schools which do not play lacrosse.  We are happy to enter formal arrangements with schools and colleges to provide statutory sport requirements.
