Cobham to double the number of pitches by Sept 2012
Former Golf driving range behind Fairmile Pub gets new lease of life...

Cobham Sports Association have announced a completion of negotiations approved in principle at an EGM in March 2011 that provides all Cobham Sports members with access to 3 more grass pitches on land formerly used as a golf driving range behind the nearby Fairmile Pub off Portsmouth Road.
This is a very welcome addition to the facilities at Cobham which have been stretched with the increasing numbers of players of several sports but particularly Rugby and Lacrosse.
In an announcement on the same day the RFU had said their funding from Sport England was being reduced by £1m because the numbers of players in England had been reducing. This has not been the case at Cobham and we are delighted to place the club at the forefront of community sport and the provision of excellent opportunities for people of all ages, sizes and genders to enjoy sport and the benefits that brings to all.
